China Report: Tron Ranked Higher Than Bitcoin and Ethereum

blockchain

China has once again voted Tron as a better project than Bitcoin and Ethereum. I fact according to the ranking agency, Tron is the second-best blockchain in the world.

This is not the first time this has happened, and the agency has continually come under fire for favoring China grown projects.

The ranking is conducted by The Center for Information and Industry Development (CCID) which falls under China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

Since the last ranking released in April, there have been few changes, EOS has retained its top spot. Tron has once again come second and Ethereum third. Bitcoin has on the other hand climbed higher.

In the last report, it was 14th but now it has climbed to 12th. Another notable move is Ripple which has climbed to 14th from 16th.

Tron Ahead, But Not For Long

Not to be confused with market cap ranking, which solely looks at the price and market cap, the CCID ranks projects based on a number of merits.

This includes technological development, adoption, and price as well. For Bitcoin, it’s clear that it comes ahead in adoption, but in terms of technological development, it is beaten by a number of cryptocurrencies.

The latest rankings will most likely have no effect on Bitcoin but are likely to encourage Tron and Ethereum investors that the project they back are still headed in the right direction.

For Ethereum especially, things will only get better with the launch of Ethereum 2.0 which has been touted as a game-changer. This has already been seen in its more than 100% price rise in 2020.

But Tron is not being left behind, it is also set to launch Tron 4.0 in about 20 days. This while not as substantial as Ethereum 2.0 launch will be a major boost to Tron native tokens, TRX.
